After Michael Cully graduated from the University of the Pacific, he began a career as an on-air journalist. He spent a decade in journalism and then moved into public relations. From Business Growth to Government Development
During his time in the business sector, Michael Cully learned a lot that he took with him into a role in government. He worked as CEO of the San Diego North Economic Development Corporation and helped rebuild that organization. He made the area more competitive and encouraged businesses to remain there. Cully raised money, grew memberships, and promoted the county to a level that was unprecedented. More companies stayed there, and more tourists came to visit, because of Cully’s leadership.

Now working in Oregon, Cully is building up the state and all it has to offer, so more people will want to visit or relocate to the area. He spends time as the Executive Director of the League of Oregon Cities in Salem, Oregon. Additionally, Cully is also an executive on the Oregon Mayor’s Association board, CityCounty Insurance Services, and the Oregon Risk Pool.
He has a passion for clean energy and transportation, and he works to curb air pollution.
